چکیده

In this work, the primary focus is given on a mixture of 27 micropollutants (pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and others) its removal from aqueous solution by phytoremediation. Phytoremediation belongs to technologies, which are contributing wastewater in constructed wetlands. Constructed wetlands can be used as an additional step for elimination municipal medium-sized treatment plants. To our knowledge, such broad variety was never targeted phytoremediation before. we carry out experiments with 3 emergent macrophytes: Phragmites australis, Iris pseudacorus Lythrum salicaria hydroponic conditions. The selected plants exposed concentrations 1–14 mg/l time period 30 days. highest affinity detected at groups fluorosurfactants (removal rate up 30%), beta-blockers 50%) antibiotics 90%). leading capability micropollutant uptake salicaria, where 25 compounds removed more than 20% efficiency. results demonstrate well usefulness technology e.g. step, because mentioned comparable or even higher effectivity, it case conventional

Nutrient removal efficiency by floating macrophytes; Lemna minor and Azolla pinnata in a constructed wetland

The use of constructed wetlands for purifying pre-treated wastewater is a cost effective technology that has been found to be more appropriate for many developing countries. The technology is also environmentally friendly with the wetlands being habitats for many water birds and other aquatic organisms. This study assessed nutrient removal efficiency of two floating macrophytes (Lemna minor...

Laboratory study of heavy metal phytoremediation by three wetland macrophytes.

Detention ponds and constructed wetlands have proven to be effective in reducing peak stormwater runoff volume and flow, and recent interest has extended to utilizing them to improve stormwater runoff quality. A review of stormwater runoff studies indicated that lead, zinc, copper, cadmium, phosphorus, and chloride are contaminants of primary concern. In laboratory settings, the uptake of conta...

Phosphorus transformations during decomposition of wetland macrophytes.

The microbially mediated transformation of detrital P entering wetlands has important implications for the cycling and long-term sequestration of P in wetland soils. We investigated changes in P forms in sawgrass (Cladium jamaicense Crantz) and cattail (Typha domingensis Pers.) leaf litter during 15 months of decomposition at two sites of markedly different nutrient status within a hard-water s...

Phytoremediation of Dairy Effluent by Constructed Wetland Technology Using Wetland Macrophytes

One of the burning problems of our industrial society is the high consumption of water and the high demand for clean drinking water. Numerous approaches have been taken to reduce water consumption, but in the long run it seems only possible to recycle wastewater into high quality water. In this study, an attempt was made to compare the efficiency of aquatic macrophytes like Typha sp., Eichhorni...

Occurrence and removal of selected micropollutants in a water treatment plant.

The levels of 14 micropollutants including nine pharmaceuticals, two pesticides, and three endocrine disruptors were measured in a water treatment plant (WTP) in Seoul, Korea. Among the measured micropollutants, 12 (excluding atrazine and triclocarban) were found in the influent and effluent from the WTP, at levels ranging from 2 to 482 ng L(-1). The removal efficiencies of the detected micropo...
